![]() It was the most welcoming site after walking from the boat stop. Charm & boutique renewed hotel in the incomparably enchanting Venice, overlooking the Rio della Sensa and della Misericordia in the Cannaregio district where picturesque hidden courtyards whisper ancient legends and where the rooms will cradle you in luxury and comfort.Quietly located in the city center near the Jewish ghetto and Campo dei Mori. This hotel sits beautifully on the side of the canal and has the essence of an Italian boutique. The interior is classic and the style suits Venice. Check in was good, we were informed about the local areas and all our questions were answered. There are no lifts but they do help with luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The room was cute, lovely cosy and large enough. The views were ok but in the summer don't open the windows due to mosquitos. The bathroom was tiny but had all the essentials and was clean. I didn't mind the squeaky floors as i felt that gave the extra vibe to the hotel. We had a few drinks in the bar, the cocktails are amazing. The location is perfect as there are so many restaurants and bars around. TIP: don't have to much luggage as from the water boat its about a 7 minute walk through the streets and allys. It was in every way a perfect hotel in the most beautiful country i have been to. The staff are polite and always ready to help. We had an amazing time last week in Venice and we were really pleased with Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel. The Hotel Ai Mori dOriente has been beautifully converted from a fine 16th century Venetian Palace and offers luxurious bedrooms, with all the facilities. From the moment we arrived the staff were really friendly and accommodating. ![]() They immediately shared with us a map of Venice and shared some of the key locations as well as some of the offerings the hotel has. This included (may be seasonal) a free Ride to the Murana island to a glassmaking workshop and tour at one of the factories. These were leaving at 9.30 and 10am each morning we were there. As I booked the whole holiday through Thomas Cook I was not aware of this so It was a great surprise - there was also the option of a €40pp 1 hour boat ride around the grand canal of an evening (We didnt do this ) but it was a great option. The hotel was clean, our room was always prepared perfectly and we had a great stay. We never ate at the hotel, but we did drink there a few times, the bar is a little pricier than those nearby, however the standard was better. If you enjoy walking/exploring the location is perfect - it not near the main sites meaning all the bars and restaurants are a lot cheaper and a lot of locals live in Cannaregio so you feel like you get a great experience of a more local culture as opposed to the prices near the Basilica etc. It was about 20 minute walk from the main square. ![]() I would certainly recommend eating and drinking along Fondamenta de la Misericordia, not 2 minutes away from the hotel but with great bars and restauraunts! One thing to note which was my own ignorance I didn't realise there was a City Tax for Venice - roughly €3.50 pp per night - so we had a €30ish bill as we checked out which I has not been expecting.
